Hands together

Avert’s programme work ended in December 2024 and our core brands have been handed over to organisations in Kenya and Zimbabwe to take forward and grow.

Avert would not have been able to achieve everything that it did over its 38 years without the many people and organisations who supported and championed our work along the way.

We would like to thank everyone who shared Avert’s vision and helped us to make a positive impact on the lives of millions of people.

We would like to particularly acknowledge our close partners Vitol Foundation, ViiV Healthcare, Gilead Sciences and ViiV Positive Action who also contributed to funding our final transition strategy, demonstrating their commitment to and understanding of what the transition could achieve, and enabling us to realise our long-term ambitions for the future of Be in the KNOW and Boost beyond Avert.

Thanks also to all the organisations that partnered with Avert and supported our journey over our 38-year lifetime including Aidsfonds, BISO (Zambia), CIDRZ (Zambia), Community Health Impact Coalition, Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, Elton John AIDS Foundation, Frontline AIDS, Funders Concerned about AIDS, FGS Integration Group, GenEndIt, GirlEffect, GNP+, HIFA, IPPF, Mercury Phoenix Trust, Mothers2Mothers, MTV Staying Alive, My Age Zimbabwe, PATA, Phelisanang Bophelong (Lesotho), Pleasure Project, PZAT (Zimbabwe), Reach Digital Health, REPSSI (Tanzania), Self-Care Trailblazer Group, Sentebale, Sisonke (South Africa), StopAIDS, Tackle, Umunthu (Malawi), VSO, ZNNP+ (Zimbabwe), Zvandiri and many others.
