Gilead have funded the development and improvement of Avert’s online content on Be in the KNOW for individuals seeking knowledge on HIV and sexual health, for community health workers, and medical practitioners.
Gilead also funded the original development of the Boost app, which was launched in January 2020 after being co-created with community health workers in Southern Africa. Boost is Avert’s digital job aide giving community health workers the up-to-date information and resources they need on HIV, sexual health, FGS and COVID-19.
Avert was a partner in Gilead’s Zeroing In programme which focussed on the needs of key populations in the HIV response. To support the goals of this programme, Avert developed tailored digital HIV-related information, focused on the needs of key populations along with the community health workers and practitioners who support them.
Gilead is currently supporting Avert to explore how digital can lead to behaviour change and improve sexual health literacy. This 12-month project is using a novel behaviour change approach to better understand our audience’s aims and actions to improve the Be in the KNOW sexual health information brand.
Gilead Sciences Inc. has no input in the development or content of materials made by Avert.
